Save water with greywater!
This is the Chico Permaculture Guilds FOURTH workshop of the year and the first after our summer break. The workshop will take place Sunday, September 27th from 10am to 5pm. Please RSVP to attend this workshop by following this link.
Learn how to divert greywater from a washing machine to irrigate the landscape with a laundry to landscape (L2L) greywater system. This type of greywater system is low cost, generally does not require a permit, and is easy to install in most home applications.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL COVER:
- Basic system overview of L2L greywater
- How to install a simple greywater system from a top load high efficiency washing machine
- How to best utilize greywater in the landscape using mulch basins
- Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
This is a hands-on workshop. Participants will learn about and participate in the construction of a real L2L greywater system.
No prior experience is required but for better understanding it is recommended participants attend the free CPG September Gathering on September 20th from 10am to 1pm at the Chico Library meeting room (1108 Sherman Ave. Chico, CA). This gathering will cover common greywater systems including the L2L system, a mock up of parts/materials required for a L2L system as well as current California codes for greywater.
